Protecting my children's future

This has been a Week O Wonders, beginning with a cold rainy day on Saturday.

Most folks wouldn't think of it that way. I mean, chilly, wet weather is hardly on the plate of good things for anyone else. But for me? Not bad. Not bad at all. It gave me the chance to look into a camera and say: "A little cold, wet weather isn't going to stop me from protecting the security of my children's future."

Makes you wonder, doesn't it? Sure, you may be wondering just what it is I'm talking about. I'll have to leave that to you for now. Just trust me. I ensured a bright future for children, and it feels good.

Then Monday, the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals made a correct decision, as did the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday. All I needed for a Grand Slam was a great Wednesday.

And, yep. It happened.

More on that later

It's another day

It's gotten easier to work at Oyster Creek at the last year: I've nearly gotten used to feeling overwhelmed.

That's new for me. Until now, I've always felt as though I was out in front of the curve, chasing down ruination before it could do any real damage.

Now I've got a to-do list that frequently out-paces my done list. Lots of tiny things linger: I take on the largest, most pressing deeds first. It's a challenge, though one I feel I'm up to.

Doesn't hurt at all that I've got a great boss.

The Stifle

Actually tying this blog to my Facebook acount has caused me to rethink how I post here. The whole idea of a blog is a blurt - just spit it out whatever it is that's on your mind.

But that doesn't always make sense. Someone's always out there, ready to read into your words whatever actions they seem to see. Even by not blurting, there are those that see shadows, not light.

You have to be careful, always.

Yeah, This is getting easier

So, I've managed to figure out how to automatically import my Blog O Wonders into Facebook, as well as post a link to my Twitter account into the same page. Only took a couple of hours of reading and thinking. Checking help files doesn't hurt either.

At the same time, I watched Shakti the Power in the background. Not a bad way to spend a morning.

So what's next? Got some thinking to do about upcoming events up Forked River way. It may be time to spend some serious moments in the deep thought.

Yep. It's all coming together.

So, yeah

I'm getting the hang of this now. Takes some doing. Twitter seems like little more than IRC -- Internet Relay Chat -- delivered over an HTTP connection. Searches are similar. I don't think I see it lasting beyond the so-called "cool" stage of life. I give it a couple of years.

Facebook, though, has more legs. It's a social network for now, but has greater applications. Good stuff. More to think about as I go.

Yeah, I'm going to give up

Twitter's instructions for inserting the code are vague at best and opaque at worst. I don't see the love affair with 140 characters or less. I'm sure I'm missing something ...

*Gad*

This Internet stuff is getting harder every day. I'm trying to figure out how to add my Twitter to this account. Haven't figured it out yet.

*sigh*

If things were as easy as they were with the Mac SE 20, this would all be over and a leap for joy would be in order. As it is, I'm still in a bit of a funk at trying to pull it together.
